With springtime comes baseball and this year with baseball came a question from my son. “Dad, do you have the tools to make a baseball bat?”

A lathe is something I don’t own because I really don’t need it. For furniture, I prefer a tapered leg and on the rare occasion I do need something more intricate, they are more cost-effective to purchase already turned.

But perhaps a lathe could fit in the mix. So I began searching for recommendations and although I have no more useful information than when I started, I did find this interesting video about a pole lathe.

This would be one sweet way to make a baseball bat.
